We've Got a New Name - Kaminario's Big Announcement

    Dear customer,

     

    When we started Kaminario back in 2008, we were all about storage - giving businesses the best all-flash solution available.

     

    And then came the cloud. Literally the best thing to happen to business since the fax machine. Giving us more agility and flexibility than ever before.

     

    But as our businesses became much more sophisticated, life in the cloud got much more complicated as well.

     

    As a valued customer we wanted to let you know our big news!

     

    We shifted gears and turned Kaminario into the platform that makes everything about life in the cloud much, much better (and way cheaper too).

     

     

    And now here we are, building on the foundation of the technology you came to value but with additional purpose, a higher calling, and operating with you today and on all clouds (on-prem and public). Which made us think - If we’re really rewriting the rules of the cloud, we should reinvent ourselves as well. We need a brand that embodies our newfound identity. A new look that matched our mission.

     

    We searched for a name that tells the story of how we help businesses become stronger yet more flexible. Lighter, yet more powerful. Agile, yet durable.

     

    So, we chose the one unique element in nature that is all those things. Silk.

    From now on, you can call us Silk. It's a whole lot simpler than Kaminario, but it still says it all. We really like it, and we're excited to share it with you.

     

    Even though our name changed, our commitment to you hasn’t.

     

    We still have the same elite engineering, reliable release schedule and unbeatable customer support as always.

     

    But we do have a whole new look. You’ll be able to check it out at silk.us (coming July 6th). We can’t wait to show you the new us.

     

     

    The transition will be gradual, so no need to worry, at this time you can still access the existing Customer and Partner portals at www.kaminario.com (and we’ll update you when we roll over these portals to the new domain), and there is no action needed on your part.     We have an FAQ available to answer your most pressing questions, but here are some housekeeping notes for you:

    1. We will be operating under the same legal entity just changing its name
    2. PO’s and payments in the US should be directed to Silk Technologies Inc. and quotes and invoices will be under the Silk name. We will announce the legal name of the company in other parts of the world in the next few weeks.
    3. We are using the same bank accounts
    4. Our staff is using a new email address at silk.us (but don’t worry we are re-directing for now.)

    We’re so excited to finally share the new us with you. And we can’t wait to continue changing the way we cloud.
